Getting to BIGMUN
Birkerød Gymnasium—the school which serves as the venue for BIGMUN 2025—lies peacefully in the beautiful countryside of Denmark.
The Opening Ceremony
For the opening ceremony, all delegations are expected to make their own way to the school. For delegations travelling by plane, we recommend taking the metro from the airport to Nørreport St., where you can transfer to the S-train, taking you directly to Birkerød Station. The journey from Copenhagen Airport to Birkerød St. takes approximately 50 minutes.
BIGMUN Bus Service
Delegations staying in hotels/hostels in Copenhagen can pay our Transport Fee of €80 and use our BIGMUN Bus Service. With the exception of the journey from the airport to the Gymnasium for the opening ceremony, the buses will take delegations between Central Copenhagen and Birkerød Gymnasium in the morning and after the conference day ends. For further information on the BIGMUN Bus Service, please click here.
Public Transport
Alternatively, individuals can buy an €80 City Pass Large, from DSB, which provides train services in Denmark. For further information on public transport costs in the Copenhagen area, please consult DSB's website here.
Host Accommodation Transport
Delegations who have successfully applied for Host Accommodation pay for transport in the local area themselves. Ask your host for information about the cost of transport.
Once in Birkerød, staff members will be present at the station to guide you to the Gymnasium on foot, which takes approximately 15 minutes.
Please note that the price of a single fare from the airport to Birkerød St. is 84 DKK for individuals aged 16 and above, and 42 DKK for individuals aged 15. The train which stops at Birkerød St. is the A train (direction to Hillerød). Train fares are always subject to change.
We further offer a baggage service between the school and the station for the opening ceremony, meaning you do not have to worry about transporting your luggage to the school and storing it, as there will be provided spaces for it.
To conveniently find your way around the Copenhagen area, you can use the website journeyplanner.dk, or download the app version called "Rejseplanen" on your smartphone.
